Transport in the city

As the areas of Montevideo that contain most points of interest are very close, so too are the public agencies and universities, and moving between them is very easy. The main means of transport is the bus, and a variety of lines reach all parts of the city.boletomvd

An urban ticket costs US$1, but there are other tickets such as 1-hour or 2-hour tickets that allow you to take more than one bus for the same price. You can also take express bus lines that head a little further afield for US$1.6.

The other option is taxis, which in Montevideo are very safe and are one of the most frequently used on rainy days and weekends to go late-night dancing.
