Flights
Time constraints sometimes justify plane travel to the farthest destinations or especially abroad. Montevideo has one airport; as many international as national flights arrive at the International Airport of Carrasco Gral. Cesáreo L. Berisso, located approximately 40 minutes from the city centre. There are three airlines that operate national flights; BQB, SAS and Aeromás. The average cost of a national flight can vary between US$75 and US$100. Flying from the northernmost point of the country to the southernmost takes around one hour and a half.
Of the large international airlines, the following operate flights to and from Montevideo: Aeromás, Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air Class, Air Europa, Air France, American Airlines, Austral, Avianca, BQB, Copa Airlines, Gol Linhas Aéreas, Lan Chile, SOL, TAM Airlines.
Long distance buses
Travelling by bus through Latin America may just change your preconceptions about long distance bussing. The buses are fast and comfortable; some even provide meals on board. Most fares are relatively cheap by international standards, but prices may vary. Trips within Uruguay are never very long, however destinations abroad such as Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Chile may take more time. Trains
It is the least used service in the country since it has only a single route: Montevideo to the town 25 de Mayo in the department of Florida, close to the Bodegas Juanicó.
